Linkin Park has unveiled plans for a new album and world tour, featuring a revamped lineup, The announcement comes seven years after the tragic loss of their lead singer, Chester Bennington, in 2017.
The band revealed on Thursday that Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara will join as a co-lead vocalist alongside veteran member Mike Shinoda. Additionally, Colin Brittain, known for his work with Papa Roach, has been brought on as the new drummer, replacing Rob Bourdon. Original members Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, and Phoenix are set to return, maintaining a strong connection to the band’s roots.
Shinoda addressed Bourdon’s departure, explaining to Billboard that the former drummer had expressed a desire to distance himself from the band a few years ago. While acknowledging the sadness of the situation, Shinoda emphasised the importance of supporting Bourdon’s personal choices.
The group has already released a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” and announced their upcoming album, “From Zero,” slated for release on November 15. The album title pays homage to the band’s original name, Xero, symbolising both their humble beginnings and their current journey of reinvention.
Fans can look forward to the “From Zero World Tour,” which will showcase the band’s new material across major cities including Los Angeles, New York, London, Seoul, and Hamburg. The tour will culminate in Bogotá, Colombia, in November.
This marks Linkin Park’s first album of new material since 2017’s “One More Light,” released shortly before Bennington’s passing. The band’s return to the spotlight demonstrates their resilience and commitment to honouring their musical legacy while embracing a new chapter in their storied career.
