While Caitlin Clark’s popularity continues to take her to new highs in the basketball world, boyfriend Connor McCaffery isn’t experiencing the same success.
The Butler Bulldogs, the team which McCaffery serves as an assistant coach for, fell to their eighth consecutive defeat on Wednesday night, losing a 84-65 contest to Providence.
Adding to the disappointment is the fact the defeat was their fifth straight in Big East action. It also moves them one step closer to their all-time losing streak of 12 games which was set back in the 1980-01 season.
The defeat means Butler now sit with DePaul as the only Big East team yet to secure a conference win this season, and their last victory overall came back on December 3 against Eastern Illinois.
With a game against Creighton coming up this weekend, Butler’s losing streak will likely continue on a little longer, though upcoming games against Seton Hall and DePaul gives them an opportunity to end their torrid run.
Frustrated fans beginning to lose patience
It’s no surprise that Butler fans are beginning to become frustrated with how this season is playing out.
While the play of Jahmyl Telfort has been a bright spot, supporters have voiced their frustrations with most of the team and Thad Matta’s coaching staff.
