Class of 2026 Maryland 4 Star LB Applauds Alabama After Receiving an Offer From Alabama
Abrams, who stands 6 feet 2 and weighs 210 pounds, finished his junior year with an impressive season that included 4 sacks and 77 total tackles, which helped McDonogh finish 10-2 before losing in the second round of the MIAA Class A playoffs, according to Maxpreps.
According to 247 Sports, the four-star prospect is ranked as the fifth best prospect in Maryland for the 2026 class. Abrams now has 15 Division I offers from teams including Penn State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide became the most recent team to extend an offer to the four-star linebacker, doing so on Tuesday.
Abrams expressed great appreciation for the Crimson Tide after receiving their offer. The four-star recruit told Touchdown Alabama’s Justin Smith, “It means everything to me.” He highlighted Alabama’s strong tradition in college football, stating, “It’s an opportunity to play at Alabama, which represents the best that college football has to offer. It also tells me that the hard work I’ve been putting in behind the scenes is starting to pay off.”
Abrams has yet to visit Tuscaloosa, but with the Tide offering Abrams on Tuesday, Kalen Deboer and the Crimson Tide are hoping to bring the 6 foot 2 linebacker on campus to add to the Tide’s 2026 class, which is currently ranked 41st in the nation and 10th in the SEC according to 247 Sports, with the only commit being 4 star cornerback Zyan Gibson from Gadsden, Alabama, who committed on Christmas Eve.
The class of 2026 four-star linebacker recently spoke with Tuscaloosa News reporter Colin Gay about his conversation with Alabama football’s new linebackers coach, Chuck Morrell. Morrell was promoted from his previous position as a defensive analyst earlier this month.
During the interview, the linebacker discussed the defensive scheme utilized by the Crimson Tide, which relies heavily on the performance of the linebackers. Abrams stated, “Everything goes through the linebackers. Where the linebackers go, that’s where the defense goes. With that mindset, they were able to be a top-10 defense in the nation.”
This concept intrigued the four-star prospect, who said, “It’s Alabama,” adding, “They put linebackers in the league almost every year.”
Alabama could become the new favorite for Maryland’s four-star linebacker, with Abrams telling Gay that the Crimson Tide will “be in it to the end.”
