The Doors, the iconic rock band that revolutionized music in the 1960s, are celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2025 with a series of special events, including a global tour and the release of a new album.

A New Chapter: The 2025 Global Tour

In a groundbreaking move, The Doors have announced their 2025 global tour, marking the first time in decades that the band will perform live. The tour will feature Robby Krieger on guitar, Ty Dennis on drums, Tony Vincent as the lead vocalist, and Pablo Manzarek, son of the late Ray Manzarek, on keyboards. The ensemble will perform classic hits like โ€œLight My Fire,โ€ โ€œBreak On Through,โ€ and โ€œPeople Are Strange,โ€ alongside new material from their upcoming album, Echoes in the Night.

The tour is set to visit over 50 cities across North America, Europe, Australia, and South America, with major stops including Los Angeles, New York City, London, Paris, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro. Tickets are available through the band’s official website, with pre-sales for fan club members.

New Music: Echoes in the Night

Accompanying the tour is the release of Echoes in the Night, The Doors’ first new album in decades. Scheduled for release in March 2025, the album features 12 new tracks, including the lead single โ€œGhost Town Lullaby,โ€ which debuted in January. The album blends the band’s signature psychedelic rock sound with contemporary influences, offering both longtime fans and new listeners a fresh yet familiar experience.

60th Anniversary Celebrations

To commemorate six decades of musical legacy, The Doors have partnered with Apple Maps to create a special guide highlighting 20 key locations significant to the band’s history. These sites include the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles and the Fillmore in San Francisco, venues where the band solidified its presence in the music scene. Additionally, the band is releasing Night Divides the Day, a comprehensive anthology book that delves into their archives. The book features rare photographs, song lyrics, and interviews with surviving members Robby Krieger and John Densmore. Limited to 2,000 hand-signed copies, each set includes a 344-page book, a 7-inch vinyl with rare demos, and other memorabilia .

Their fusion of rock, blues, and psychedelia, combined with Jim Morrison’s poetic lyrics and charismatic stage presence, left an indelible mark on the music industry.
