
The guitarist for Type O Negative says he’s inclined to reunion performances honouring the late frontman Peter Steele. According to Kenny Hickey, who recently spoke on the Talk Toomey podcast, he is excited about the prospect of the beloved doom metal band commemorating Steele with reunion gigs that feature a rotating roster of guest singers. Over the years, artists like Linkin Park and Suicide Silence have effectively used the format. At 48, Steele passed away from sepsis brought on by diverticulitis. Sal Abruscato, Johnny Kelly, and Hickey all carried on with their musical endeavours after his death. Hickey is presently performing with Sun Don’t Shine, whose track “The Promise Song” was released on January 29. Members of Crowbar Kirk Windstein and Todd Strange complete the band’s lineup.
