Wake Forest announces that its home basketball game against Duke is sold out
The Duke Blue Devils play one of their biggest in-state rivals at the end of the month, and theyโll do so in front of a packed arena.
The Wake Forest Demon Deaconsย announced on Thursdayย that their January 25 home basketball game against the Blue Devils has officially sold out.
Wake Forest upset the Blue Devils in Winston-Salem one year ago, an 83-79 victory that notably preceded Demon Deacons fans colliding with Duke forwardย Kyle Filipowskiย while storming the court. The Blue Devils did beat Wake Forest in Durham two weeks before that game, a 77-69 win in front of the Cameron Crazies.
The Demon Deacons arenโt quite as fearsome as they were a season ago, however. Boopie Miller (SMU Mustangs) and Andrew Carr (Kentucky Wildcats) both transferred to new programs after the 2023-24 season, and while Wake Forest has an 11-4 record, all four of its losses came by at least 11 points. As of January 9, the Demon Deacons sit 83rd inย the KenPom efficiency rankings.
